The ISLA is LEAVING March 29, 2009 for Nicaragua with eight lifeguards, equipment, and two sponsors to assist with the lifeguarding of the beaches around San Juan Del Sur during the busy week of Easter... Please follow us for two weeks on THIS website as we blog the entire trip and document the work we are doing!
With a passion and dream to help others, members of the International Surf Lifesaving Association have embarked on a transcontinental bicycle journey across the United States. Their mission is to send trained lifeguards to beaches around the world by raising awareness and funds as they traverse the great American continent.
The proceeds of this year's bicycle ride from Virginia Beach, Virginia to Huntington Beach, California will go directly to sending lifeguards to beaches in Nicaragua and establishing a permanent program to combat the horrendous amount of drownings each year. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to guarantee we fulfill these objectives and save lives.
Please donate to a cause we are extremely passionate about. It is your help that will go directly to saving lives and teaching ocean safety to people throughout the world. If you would like to donate through a credit or debit card please donate here. If you would like to donate by mailing us a cheque, please mail and make payable to:
